This year, there was so much snow in Cadillac, that the ice sank. Or at least that what Johnson claims happened. We never really saw it. Supposedly, so much snow came down so quickly, it pushed the ice to the bottom of the pond, and the water and remaining snow turned to slush. It was "un-clearable". (The fact that Johnson also couldn't find a power snow-blower was just a co-incidence.) So we cleared the country road out in front of his place, turned on some headlights, grabbed a few beers, and the puck dropped nearly on time.
